Lorenzo's POV
"I'm vengeance and wrath, and I'm coming for you."
I marked the face of my victim, Sebastian, ruining his photo with my pen.
My office door burst open as Moi padre is seen charging towards me.
"Where the fuck is he?!"
He groaned, referring to Sebastian.
"I'm..."
"You have twenty-four hours!... Twenty-four freaking hours, to clean your mess, Lorenzo!"
Moi Padre's eyes were bloodshot, as deadly as a venomous viper, keeping me trapped in their holds. His tone blasted so hard like it would chop off my head.
"I..."
Unsure of what to say at this moment, I swallow my dry words, running my hand through my smooth hair.
"In just three years, Lorenzo, you want to crumble my empire?"
Liquor, anything. I just needed something strong to drain this level of anger that consumed me.
The rise and fall of my chest was evident.
"How dare you try to ruin my damn reputation?"
The large veins in his neck were bulging out profusely.
"Padre..."
He slammed his palm on my brown mahogany desk, snatching the words from my mouth.
"Don't call me father." He gave a stern warning. "Because I already regret that you're from my loins."
Mean. Deadbeat father.
My childhood wasn't fanciful like the kids who visit the park and what marshmallows. I've had my father in so many ugly ways, but watching him spill so much hate in my face, I'm on the verge of going wild.
"I promise to hunt down the fucker, and make him pay with his soul."
I said a complete sentence since the altercation.
He cackled.
"Out of respect for the bond we share, Martins gave you his daughter as a bride, and what?"
He searched my face, his eyes bore disgust.
"You couldn't protect her."
Again, he got hysterical, shaking his head like a maniac.
"Twenty-four hours. Don't make me step in."
With that, he stormed out of the grand office.
Helen, my secretary walked in, with a few files in her hand. She seemed a bit terrified, merely staring at my stern face.
"Sir..."
"Get out!" I lashed at her, venting my frustration on her.
"Get the fuck out!"
In haste, she scurried away, shutting the door instantly.
"Sebastian."
I groaned, exhaling heavily.
My hands twitched beside me, in dire need of bloodthirsty revenge.
Looking ahead, my gaze fell on the wedding photo of Olivia and I. We weren't in love, but we made a lifetime sacrifice for our family.
Her father was Padre's old friend. He had a legit multi-million dollar parastatal, exactly what Padre needed as a font for his dirty business. We had tons of warehouses of coke scattered in Florida. It generated billions of dollars.
With Olivia's father being a business tycoon, with strong connections, and having no heir, a merger was just the perfect idea.
Olivia wasn't the perfect bride, we argued and had too many disagreements, but she was my bride, and she was carrying my child.
"Damn!"
I fought the image of Olivia groaning in the trapped car as she burned to death with my child!
"Breathe in, Lorenzo."
Through my mouth, I expelled air, going wild like a beast.
Blindly going to the well-erected bar section on the other side of the office, I pulled out a bottle of Louis VII and poured myself a glass.
Gulping down the entire content, I clenched my teeth, going for another shot.
"Argh!"
I slammed the glass against the marbled wall, ruining the thick glass as the shards settled in a heap, with the brown liquor draining down.
Hell!
I failed Olivia.
The least I owed her was my protection... I damn failed her.
Pulling out my bunner phone, I dialed Enzo.
"Don."
"Change of plan."
I walked out of the office, tugging on my tie that suddenly suffocated me.
"Track that traitor and send me his address, I need to pay him a visit."
"Si, Don." He obeyed. "I'll get it..."
"I need it now, do all you must, and I mean every damn thing."
Ending the call, I walked into my garage. Mark, my driver rushed behind me, in the spirit of service.
"Fuck off."
My warning was grim.
Settling in my Ford Mustang, I pulled out the platinum briefcase from beneath the dashboard.
Pistol. Ragged toothed blade. A pair of spiked gloves...
Good.
Shutting it, I slipped it in place and reared the engine to life, firing it out of the company's premises at an insane speed.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
Grabbing a hold of it, an IP address popped up on the screen.
A creepy smirk crept around my lips.
I've got a place to be.
Firing up the engine, I raced in the direction. It took me twenty-eight minutes, thirty-five seconds, two yellow cards from road officers, and anger, to get there.
"Time for business."
I kissed my baby, ducking the head of the pistol in the waist of my pants. The blade was in one hand, and the chain in another.
The house was at the end of the estate, even better for me. It was guarded by a heavy black gate. Ringing the doorbell, I took two steps backward.
"Hello."
The short pale gateman opened and peeked out.
"How may I help you?"
"I need to see Sebastian."
My chin was hardened, causing my tone to appear as a groan.
"Who are you?"
"Open."
I'm a few seconds from adding him to my death list.
"Sir?"
He stepped out to get a full view of me, which happened to be his worst mistake.
Staring at my blade, his eyes widened in shock.
"Ru-"
He was about to raise an alarm when I ran the sharp blade over his mouth, keeping him shut for the rest of his life, as his head was left hanging by tiny muscles and bones.
Falling to the ground, he leveled in a heap. I kicked his blood-stained body to the side and walked into the not-so-large compound.
A tall and heavily built man slammed the red button on his waist as he reached for his gun.
"Stay..."
Blowing up his brains, I took out the security man in front of the house.
One. Two.
I shot at the two extra securities that ran out, following the blared signal.
With no one in my way, I opened the front door, ushering myself into a seemingly empty living room. It was sparkling clean, and furnished enough for a man doing well for himself.
My eyes swept the whole place at a glance, careful not to miss out on anything or anyone. Clear, I headed upstairs.
Twisting the knob of the first room, it was locked. I retrieved the master key in the back pocket of my pants and unlocked it.
Empty.
Going for the second, it was also empty, and then the third.
"Stop!"
I spun, now looking behind where the frail feminine voice had ordered from.
She was roughly dressed, with a mob bucket in hand. Some part of her blue dress was soaked with her sweat, making it a darker shade.
"Who are you?"
Her frail voice asked, trying to mask her fear.
Following my hand that held the blade and was stained with blood that dripped on the sparkling floor, she opened her mouth to scream, but her tongue was glued to the roof of it.
In a flight of terror, the bucket dropped, crashing down, spilling the dirty water on the tile.
She looked a bit familiar, but I couldn't immediately place it.
"Where is Sebastian?"
Taking gentle strides towards her glued frame that kept trembling badly, she remained still.
"I'll ask again,"
This time, I was in front of her, wrapping my fingers around her soft slender throat.
"Where is Sebastian?"
I dragged each word, thinking of how best to take my revenge on her. Everyone that was linked with the moron, would pay for his crime. To the very last person.
"I..."
She hiccuped, terrified to her bones.
"You're of no use then."
Wearing the chain around her neck, I gently strangled her.
"Pl-"
She gasped, gripping my arm. Her fingers dug into my bare skin, as she pleaded for mercy. A teardrop streaked from the side of her eyes, wetting my hand.
I pressed my eyes shut for a minute, unable to stare at her royal blue eyes as they glistened with tears.
Damn it.
Letting go of her throat, I clutched my hands tightly around the weapons.
"Th-thank you."
She crumbled on my feet, sweeping my feet with her red curls, in appreciation, while she nursed her bruised throat.
"Not yet."
I step backward.
"I only spared you because you'll be my message to the bastard," I informed her. "When I return for my debt, you'll not be this lucky."
I squatted to her level, pushing aside her rich red hair, so I could stare at her pale face.
"I'm Lorenzo Giovanni, and I'm karma."
"I'll be the man that marks you... with my words, touch, and heart, Lessi." *** *** In a bid to not marry the arrogant man her father is forcing on her, Alessia runs off to Rylan, the son of her father's arch-enemy, the same man who her scheming father made cripple after she had a one-night stand with him at his casino.
