After finally convincing her father to give her a year of freedom before she takes on the alpha position, her father allows her to celebrate in a club with her best friend, Dex. With him nowhere to be found and a persistent bloke named Ryker sniffing around her ass, the last man on earth she'd expected to save her was Alpha Kaden Kyson, whom her father loathes with every drop of his blood. She wakes up in Kaden's bed and instantly realizes she made her biggest mistake. She rejects him, only to go home finding his mark on her neck, leaving her in shock, about to beg her father on her knees when he says the last thing she expected of him. As it turns out, her father holds very strong principles on the mate bond. To him, it's the most precious, sacred bond to a wolf and one must not break it. So, he breaks his longest-time rivalry with Alpha Kaden for sake of his daughter, and arranges an alliance between the packs through marriage. Danielle is relieved of her father's decisions and gives the bond a chance. All seems to be going well, when on one fateful day, she announces her pregnancy to her father first out of excitement. But before she got to tell Kaden, pictures of her naked with another man flooded the news, bringing shame to her family and most of all, breaking her father's trust. The marriage is called off, and he announces her unfit to rule the pack and she never will. What breaks Danielle's heart even more is that her father starts beating her. Kaden refuses to see her or answer her calls. Desperate, she seeks Dex who helps her escape her father undetected, chasing that sliver of hope for new beginnings.

Chapter 1 I don't want to be Alpha

Danielle's POV:

"I don't want to be Alpha."

There. I said it.

My father freezes instantly, his one hand up in mid-air as he had been keeping me up to teach me all about the basics and whatnot on becoming his pack's Alpha.

"I beg your pardon?" He raises an eyebrow,

"For the last time, Dad. Can't I enjoy my youth far away from here before you hand me over the title?" I sigh, sitting down on his fancy leather couch. I folded my arms across my chest.

"I want to travel, see the world, maybe even go to university. Dad, you know I always wanted to be a teacher."

I hear Dad sigh, heavy footsteps coming to me before the couch dips as he takes a seat beside me.

"I know that. You told me a thousand times." He chuckles. I pout.

"But we're talking about the pack." He says.

"Of course. More important than your own daughter." I mumble.

I know I was being a bitch. Yet, sometimes I just wanted my father to listen.

My father, Alpha Viktor Sage, is the present Alpha of Heaven Moon Pack. I'm the only daughter, which means I'm the only heir to take up the position when he retires.

To be honest, I can't believe he's even thought of retiring. I mean look at him. The man hasn't aged a day after at least twenty-five. He's perfectly fit, healthy, and capable of running the pack for at least a year. He hasn't even hit forty yet.

"Give me a year, Dad. That's all I'm asking."

All my life, my father has drilled the importance of my Alpha blood deep into my head. Let's say since I was around five. He would take me to his meetings, talk to me about some private pack matters that did not matter to me at the age of six. I was what they call, normal. Normal for wanting to play around and not bother myself constantly with matters of the pack. I thank Goddess for my mom who knocked some sense into my father for attempting to train me when I was five. Imagine picking up an axe or a knife at that age and trying not to be afraid when your opponent is the hulk.

My father always said that someday, the people of this pack will respect me, and so will he. But I made up my mind. I want to go abroad for at least a year first before taking up the alpha position. So, here I am, trying to convince my Dad, the great ol' mighty Alpha, to hold his horses until I return.

"If you think about it, you can also benefit a lot from-"

"Fine." He cuts me off.

"Ah, I knew you'd say that. So I prepared this sp-wait, what?"

"I said fine. I can wait." My father says.

My eyes go wide and I squeal my excitement. I knew then there's only one thing left to do.

I hugged my Dad, who chuckled before hugging me back.

"Oh, by the way," I jumped back and Dad gives me a 'what now?' look.

"Since I'm basically eighteen now, can I go to the party with Dex?"

His brows scrunch hearing his name. He never liked Dex from the beginning, I could never understand why. Hell, I could never understand men and their games of pride and prejudice.

"Please, please, please, pleeaaaassseeeeee?" I clasp my hands together, pout, and give him the big, round, puppy eyes he used to give into. I call it the 'Puppy Move'.

I mentally chuckle to myself when I hear him sigh.

"Alright. Just because you're turning eighteen at midnight." He grumbles.

"Yes!" I scream and do a victory dance in front of him before I realize what I'm doing.

My father looks at me, appalled, making me freeze on the last step and clear my throat.

I hug him for the last time, kissing him in the cheek. I could hear his sigh turn into a chuckle as I leave his office and dash towards my room to change.

It's my 18th birthday coming up. All I know is I'm going to have a blast.

Dex met me at the club that night. My father didn't want him parading his mustang around the house, taking him as an arrogant douche who like to wave his money around. I shake my head, trying to get rid of negative thoughts before my birthday. My father finally said yes to my proposal. It's a miracle he even let me go to the club. So, I plan to make the most of it.

"Hey," Dex walks up to me in his party clothes. I rolled my eyes at his choice of clothing. Did he have to pick a jacket covered in pecks of sparkling diamonds?

"Hey to you, too." I scrunched my face.

"What? You don't like my panache?" He smirks, and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever."

His eyes scan me head to toe.

"You look hot."

"Thanks." I shrug, locking arms with his as we enter the club.

The club was buzzing with the pounding beat of the music, making me bob my head, feeling the vibes. Dex got me something to drink while I hit the dance floor without him, swaying my hips and rocking my body to the music.

I could feel several eyes pinned on me but I didn't care. This was my night. I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.

I got a few drinks in me and my feet stumbled lightly, feeling a little tipsy.

"Hi," I swivel my hips around, feeling a hard chest and a dick lingering way closer to my ass than I would like.

"Yes?" I smirk up at a tall, blonde man, yet slightly shorter than Dex by an inch. His pale blue eyes look me up and down even as I continue to dance. I smirk. He's handsome, too, just not my type.

"Can I just say, in behalf of every man here, that you're absolutely gorgeous?"

I roll my eyes, waving him off.

I don't have plans on meeting a man tonight. I just wanted to get wasted and go home.

The blonde bloke still won't stop talking to me. Ryker, he kept saying his name was. It's starting to get annoying so I squeezed my way out of the dance floor to look for Dex when he grabbed my wrist.

"Let go," I growl.

"Come on, don't act like you don't want me." He smirks and I scrunch my face up in disgust.

"Go away."

Yet he laughs and tugs on my wrist, everyone around me oblivious to what he was doing. I was going to look for Dex. He was just here before this Ryker guy showed up.

"F*ck off."

Suddenly, a dark and dominating aura swooshed behind me. The air instantly fell into dead silence, although the music went on. Slowly, I turn around, and I gasp in sheer horror as I stare at the man with jet black hair, broad shoulders, and a frame that towered over me.

My round eyes gawked at the man, seeing as this is not just any Alpha but Alpha Kaden Kyson of the Blood Walkers Pack. My father's biggest archenemy and he's hell bent on taking him down.

Yet, my wolf sniffs the air. Her ears perking up in attention.

Mate!
