Leila's world is turned upside down when she's rejected by her mate, the alpha of her pack, and forced to leave everything she's ever known. But fate has other plans. Deep in the heart of the wilderness, two twin alphas, Rylan and Ronan, find her injured and broken, their instincts pulling them to her like never before. They offer her a chance for healing- but at a cost. In a world where omegas are meant to belong to only one alpha, Leila's heart is torn between two men who share a bond deeper than she could ever have imagined. As dark secrets unravel, Leila must choose: remain the rejected omega, or embrace a love that defies everything she's been taught.

Chapter 1 1

The full moon bathed the clearing in silver light, casting an ethereal glow over the gathered wolves. The air was thick with anticipation, the scent of pine and earth heavy in the night breeze. All around her, the pack stood in silence, waiting for the moment to come. Leila's heart pounded in her chest as she stood before Gareth, her mate, the alpha of their pack.

It was supposed to be a night of celebration. The alpha's ceremony. The union of two souls destined to rule together. But there was no joy in her heart, only dread.

Gareth stood tall and proud before her, his dark hair catching the light, eyes narrowed in scrutiny. The tension in his posture was palpable, his every movement a silent warning. The pack watched from the sidelines, their faces impassive, their gazes heavy with expectation. Leila's throat tightened, the weight of their judgment pressing down on her.

Her mother, standing just a few paces behind her, tried to give her a reassuring smile, but it faltered when their eyes met. Leila had always known this moment would come, but she'd never imagined it would feel like this. She had never expected to stand before the man who was supposed to be her mate, her protector, only to feel the sharp sting of his rejection.

The ceremony had begun with the customary bloodletting, a mark of the bond that was supposed to form between them. Leila had offered her wrist, trembling as Gareth cut into her flesh, but when she extended her hand to him for the final joining, he had recoiled.

Now, in front of the pack, her hands trembled. Gareth's cold gaze met hers, and her heart sank. His expression was unreadable, but she could see the decision already made in his eyes. She had been waiting for this moment her entire life, but now that it had arrived, she wished she could disappear into the shadows, away from the prying eyes.

"Leila," Gareth's voice was low, but it carried through the clearing, sending a ripple of murmurs through the pack. "You are not what I thought you would be."

Her stomach churned, but she kept her gaze steady, refusing to show any sign of weakness.

"You're not strong enough," he continued, his words cutting deep. "You are not the mate I need. I have no use for an omega who can't keep up with me."

The words hit like a physical blow. The pain that surged through her chest was enough to knock the breath from her lungs. He had rejected her. In front of the entire pack.

Her hands shook as she fought to hold back the tears. The rejection wasn't a surprise. In her heart, she had always known that Gareth didn't truly want her. She had never been the ideal mate he had envisioned. She wasn't strong, not in the way he needed. Her heart had always longed for the tenderness of a bond, not the cold, calculated power that Gareth exuded.

Her mother's faint sob reached her ears, but Leila kept her eyes on Gareth, refusing to let him see how deeply he had hurt her. The weight of the pack's eyes upon her felt like a thousand stones pressing down on her chest.

Gareth turned away from her, his back to her now. "Leave," he commanded, his voice devoid of any warmth. "You are no longer welcome here."

A chorus of whispers erupted from the pack as Leila stood frozen, her breath coming in shallow gasps. Her heart screamed at her to run, to flee from this humiliation, but her body refused to move. The world seemed to spin, and for a moment, she felt like she might collapse right there.

"You heard him." Gareth's voice was sharper now. "Leave before I force you to."

Without another word, he turned and walked away, his form disappearing into the trees, leaving her standing there like a broken shell. The pack members began to disperse, some muttering among themselves, others glancing at her with pity in their eyes. The pain in her chest was almost unbearable now. She had been rejected, not just by her mate, but by the very pack she had belonged to for as long as she could remember.

Leila stood motionless, her vision blurring with unshed tears. Her mother approached her, placing a trembling hand on her shoulder. "Leila, I-"

But the words were too much. She couldn't bear to hear the sympathy in her mother's voice. Not now. Not after what had just happened.

With a sudden burst of energy, Leila turned and fled into the forest, her feet pounding against the earth, the wind whipping through her hair. Her breath came in ragged gasps as she ran, her heart thundering in her chest, the bitter taste of Gareth's rejection lingering on her tongue.

The trees blurred around her, the darkness swallowing her whole. She didn't know where she was going, only that she couldn't stay there. Not in the pack. Not in a place where she had been rejected so thoroughly.

Her wolf stirred restlessly inside her, but Leila fought to keep it under control. She had been rejected. No one wanted her. Her wolf, like her, had always longed for the security of a true mate, but now that dream felt shattered. She was nothing. No one.

The forest was eerily quiet, save for the soft rustling of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl. Leila pushed herself harder, the pain of her rejection fueling her desperate flight. She needed to escape. She needed to get as far away from the pack as possible.

The night felt endless, the moon above her a cold, distant witness to her sorrow. She didn't know how much time had passed when she finally slowed her pace, exhaustion dragging her limbs down. Her chest heaved with each breath, her body trembling from the cold and the emotional toll of the night.

Leila stumbled, her legs giving way beneath her, and she collapsed to the ground, her body wracked with silent sobs. She had no one left. No family, no pack, no mate. The darkness closed in around her, and for a brief moment, she considered giving in to it completely.

But just as the weight of her despair threatened to consume her, a sound reached her ears. A crack of twigs. The rustle of leaves. She tensed, her wolf alert, but there was no time to react before a pair of strong hands gripped her arms, pulling her upright.

"Careful, omega," a voice rumbled in her ear, deep and rich with authority. "You don't want to be out here alone."

Leila froze. Her heart stuttered in her chest as she looked up, startled to see two tall, imposing figures standing over her. The moonlight caught their faces, revealing sharp features and piercing eyes. They were twins, identical in every way, yet their presence was as different as night and day.

The first one, his gaze fierce and commanding, had dark, tousled hair and a scar running down the side of his cheek. The second, though equally tall, had a softer appearance, his eyes warm but no less intense.

"Who are you?" Leila asked, her voice hoarse from the tears that had already fallen. She took a step back, but they were too close, too overwhelming.

"We are the Twin Alphas of the Wildheart Pack," the scarred one said, his voice low, almost a growl. "And you, omega, are in our territory."

Leila's breath hitched. She had heard of the Wildheart Pack-their reputation for strength was legendary. But never in her wildest dreams had she imagined finding herself in their midst.

The twins exchanged a look, something unspoken passing between them. Then, without warning, they both reached down to help her up. Despite her instincts screaming for her to run, she didn't resist. Their touch was gentle, but there was no mistaking the power beneath it.

"You're injured," the other twin murmured, his gaze softening as he looked at her. "Come with us. We'll help you."

Leila hesitated. They were strangers, their pack unknown to her. But in that moment, with nothing else left for her, she had no choice but to trust them.

With a shaky breath, she nodded, allowing them to guide her through the forest. The weight of her rejection still hung heavy in her chest, but for the first time that night, a flicker of hope ignited within her.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the twin alphas could offer her the refuge she so desperately needed.
