SAN DIEGO
With a wide smile on her face and her heart racing with excitement, Aurora stared at herself in the mirror. A wide smile formed on her lips as she admired her reflection, she looked so elegant in her wedding dress.
It was her day! She was so happy. She would be getting married to the man of her dreams, William Becker.
Although there was a reason the wedding was rushed only she and William knew and they planned to tell everyone after the wedding.
It wasn't something bad, it was good news.
She snapped out of her thoughts when the door opened and her best friend came rushing in. Sarah.
"Wow, you are so pretty." Sarah gasped dramatically and Aurora rolled her eyes. Of course, her best friend is a drama queen.
"I know." She replied proudly and smiled.
"I can bet a million that when William sees you, he would want to devour you right there on the altar." She said and Aurora laughed.
Aurora shook her head and hugged her best friend. She would miss being with her at all times so much.
"We better hurry now, we don't want to be late." Sarah added and Aurora nodded in response.
"Wait, what about my parents?" She asked.
"They are at the hall already. Let's go."
Taking one final look at herself in the mirror, Aurora walked out of the room with her heart filled with joy.
~
They arrived at the hall in minutes. Aurora's excitement was now replaced with anxiety. She was nervous, she couldn't help but think about something going wrong.
She stood in front of the hall waiting for her father to walk her down the aisle, her mother and best friend were already in the hall. Everyone was waiting for the bride.
Aurora suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder and she flinched, she turned to see her father and she exhaled heavily.
"Dad." She called with tears welling up in her eyes and her father pulled her into a hug as he also tried to fight his tears.
"Hey, it's okay. It is okay to be nervous." He assured as he pats her back a little. Aurora blinked back her tears and pulled away from the hug, she wouldn't want her makeover to get ruined.
"I am so proud of you Aurora." Her father said with a smile and she smiled back.
"Thank you." She replied and he nodded. He was happy, so happy. Aurora could see it.
She was glad she was making her parents so happy, they deserved it. She was sure her mother was as proud as her father.
Their daughter would be getting married to a wealthy and important man in the city, and finally, they would have a title to their names and be respected. It was a lot.
"Ready?" He asked as he raised his arm, she smiled and locked arms with him.
They slowly walked in together and everyone's eyes turned to them. Aurora's eyes were fixed on the altar, there he was. Her perfect man, her William.
As she got closer to the altar, his eyes were fixed on her too, Aurora could see the excitement in his eyes.
She was sure he loved her as much as she loved him and he would do anything for her.
She got to the altar and William held her hand and helped her climb it carefully.
"You look so beautiful." He whispered to her and her cheeks heated up.
"You look great." She whispered back. Tears of joy welled up in her eyes but she tried her best to blink back her tears. She couldn't ruin her makeover.
"We are gathered here today... " The priest started and everyone watched.
William kept staring at Aurora with a smile on his face, he couldn't wait to be with her. He knew he made the right choice choosing her.
It was time for them to take their vows. It was Aurora first.
Aurora said her vows then it was William's turn.
"I, Williams Fedrick, take... " He suddenly trailed off as they heard a gunshot and the bullet pierced William's chest.
Aurora's eyes widened in shock as he fell dead in her presence. She watched in horror as blood gushed out of his body.
What followed were screams and gunshots as everyone ran for their lives.
Aurora hurriedly bent and stared at William's body. She had tears in her eyes as her hands trembled.
"Will... William." She stuttered as tears welled up in her eyes and her hands trembled.
She looked at the crowd and saw how everyone hurried out of the hall.
"Aurora." She heard her father call and she saw him rushing to her with her mother next to him.
They were about to get to her when they got shot too and they both fell dead. Aurora screamed as tears rolled down her cheeks.
She watched in horror and felt her head spin. She just watched her parents and the love of her life die.
"Oh, this is fun." She heard a man say as he walked towards her. He had a smile on his face.
He was about to walk to William's body when he was interrupted by one of the other men with a gun.
"Vin, we have to leave now or we won't make it." The man informed him and he turned to Aurora instead.
"Hmm, you are pretty." He muttered and drew his brows together. Aurora couldn't say anything, she just kept trembling in fear with tears streaming down her cheeks freely.
"You could earn us some extra cash. Nighty night pretty." He said. In a flash, Aurora felt a sharp pain in her head and distant screams were all she heard before blacking out.
