He wanted her back and had realized his mistakes. Entangled with old feelings and burning desire, she was torn between following her plan; Revenge or staying true to her heart.

Chapter 1 The Heartbreak

I studied my reflection in the mirror, taking note of the sage green dress I'd saved up money to buy. It was my anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband at the office.

The dress was fabulous and I knew my husband, Alexander would love it. He usually liked dresses that clung to me and showed all my curves.

"You look wonderful, ma'am." One of the maids who was helping get dressed commented.

"That's what I thought. Thank you, Sarah." I did a little twirl to check myself out one more time. Tonight had to be perfect. "Open my jewelry box and get me that necklace with diamond studs."

She brought it to me.

Quickly, I put them on and ten minutes later, I was done and making my way to the bus station.

Alexander was yet to get me a car so I used public transportation for the time being. I tried not to dwell on the fact that he'd just gotten himself his third car while I was yet to get one.

He was in my life, that was all that should matter. It was all that mattered, actually. I loved him regardless of the rocky situations surrounding our marriage.

I got off and began the short walk to his office. Usually, I would not complain but on heels, it was quite difficult walking in heels.

I would have to beg him to get me a car, even if it was a second hand as vehicles were a necessary item needed in one's day to day life.

And he would never let me use any of his. That was one of his many rules I'd carefully adhered to.

Soon, I reached his office. I smoothened my gown, a bit nervous about coming to his office uninvited.

Another rule of his, to never come to the office unless I was invited and I'd never been invited.

"Good morning, ma'am. How may I help you?" A young lady greeted me from her position behind the desk.

His secretary or receptionist, I presumed.

"Good morning. I'm here to see my husband." I informed her.

A small frown appeared on her forehead. "And who might that be?"

"Uhmm... he's your boss. The owner of this company." It was my turn to frown.

Were they not aware Alexander was married? Was it a secret?

"You mean Mr. Saint?" She appeared even more befuddled.

"Yes. Alexander Saint is my husband. I'm here for him."

She gave me a scrutinizing once-over. "Are you an imposter?"

"What?!" How could she say something like that?

"My boss, Mr. Saint, is not married."

Her words broke my heart. I knew Alex had kept a secret lid on our marriage but did he have to go this far? I couldn't even access his office without being labeled an imposter.

I swallowed disappointment and pain. Approaching her desk, I brought out my phone and showed her the few pictures I had of us together which were mostly our wedding pictures.

He rarely allowed me to take pictures of us.

"Also, here's my wedding ring for further proof." I showed her my left hand where my wedding band was nestling nicely on one of my fingers.

"Oh, I'm sorry ma'am. I didn't mean to..."

"It's okay." I interrupted her, not taking offense.

It wasn't her fault, was it? Alex had decided to keep me a secret. My heart pinched painfully at that thought. But I tamped down the pain and offered her a forced smile.

"I'm sorry." She apologized again.

"You didn't know. Can I go now?"

"Oh yes. You're free." She permitted.

"Last floor?" I wanted to be sure, I've not been here before.

"Yes, ma'am. His office is on the last floor."

I politely thanked her and walked away from her desk, heading for the elevator.

I checked my reflection in the metallic door of the elevator I was riding in, making sure nothing was out of place, not even my hair.

The elevator dinged my destination and slid open. I didn't need to ask around for his office, I already saw the CEO boldly inscribed on a golden plaque on the first door.

I blew a nervous breath, knocked once and opened, ready to dazzle him with my looks and smile.

But when my hand turned the knob and opened the door, I was the one dazzled.

I blinked twice to ensure I wasn't dreaming.

There was Alexander, having s*x with another woman on his desk.

The worst?

He saw me but didn't care about my presence to stop. He kept hitting from behind, holding my gaze as though to taunt me.

Tears welled, he became blurry. The woman turned to meet my gaze.

A complacent smile spread across her lips.

I was taken aback. Too shocked to move a muscle. And so I helplessly watched my husband bring another woman to her climax, his gaze never leaving mine.

A sob broke out, tears streamed in torrents down my cheeks. I held my chest, an uncomfortable, painful feeling tightening within, making it hard for me to breathe.

"What are you doing here, Lyvanne?" He was zipping his pants and buckling his belt.

"H-how... h-how..." I could not form words, I was too broken to.

"Anyways, that's no longer an issue. Whatever you saw, is exactly what is happening." He stated without emotions, no cold and stoic.

"Alex, y-you are mean!" I finally managed to say amidst choking tears.

"Alex, you're mean." The woman mimicked me as a way to mock me.

A low chuckle emitted from him.

"That was wonderful, Alex. We should do it some other time." This woman kissed his cheek.

He glanced at me before pulling the woman closer and kissing her on the lips. "We'll do it always."

"I'm here, Alex! I'm here and I'm your wife! How dare you!" I screamed.

"Shut the hell up and get out!" His cold, menacing tone had me jolting.

"Alex, for two years I have loved you and..."

"...and blah blah blah, I don't care, Lyvanne. I don't give a bloody damn!" He approached me. "Leave my office and go home. Wait for me there. I have a surprise for you."

Before I could say another word, he had opened his door and pushed me out of his office...
