Elena always felt a strange pull toward the wilderness, a whisper in her soul every time the full moon lit up the night sky. On a fateful evening, while hiking through the dense forest near her hometown, she encounters Adrian, a mysterious stranger with piercing eyes and an aura of danger. What she doesn't know is that Adrian is no ordinary man-he's the lone guardian of an ancient wolf clan, bound to protect his kind and keep their existence hidden. As Elena and Adrian's worlds collide, an undeniable passion ignites between them. But their love comes with risks: Adrian's clan views humans as a threat, and a rival pack is hunting to claim Elena for their own dark purposes. With secrets unraveling and the full moon drawing near, Elena must decide if she can trust Adrian with her heart-and if she's willing to embrace a destiny that could forever change her life. Under the glowing light of the full moon, love and fate will be tested in ways neither imagined.

Chapter 1 Under the Full Moon's Glow

The moonlight always had an inexplicable power over me. It was as if each silver beam was a call, an irresistible invitation to something I couldn't name. Since I was a child, I'd felt an attraction to the forest surrounding my town, but on full moon nights, that sensation became almost unbearable. It was as if something inside me longed for those dense shadows and the nocturnal sounds that seemed to sing a song meant only for me.

That night, the urge was stronger than ever. I couldn't resist. I put on my warmest coat, laced up sturdy boots, and walked to the trail entrance a few miles from my house. The full moon shone so brightly that I didn't even need a flashlight-the silver light bathed the path, casting dancing shadows across the trees. With each step, my heart beat faster, a mix of excitement and a slight twinge of fear.

The trees seemed to whisper secrets to each other as I walked. The air was cold but not unpleasant; there was something in it, something almost electric, that made my skin tingle. I didn't know exactly where I was going, but it didn't matter. It was as if my feet knew the way, even if my mind didn't. An ancient instinct, perhaps. Or a delusion. Still, I pressed on.

It didn't take long for me to stray from the main trail. The vegetation around me grew denser, and the forest sounds seemed louder here-the rustling of leaves, the snapping of twigs underfoot, the distant hoot of an owl. But there was something else, something I couldn't immediately identify. A low, rhythmic sound, like a soft heartbeat, almost imperceptible. I stopped, trying to understand what it was.

That's when I saw him for the first time.

Between the shadows of the trees, a pair of glowing eyes met mine. For a moment, I was frozen. They weren't ordinary eyes-there was something wild in them, something that made my heart stop for a second before racing faster than ever. I should have run. Any sensible person would have run. But something kept me there, rooted in place, unable to look away.

"You shouldn't be here," said a deep, firm voice, but with an almost... protective tone. He stepped forward, emerging from the shadows, and the moonlight revealed his face. He was a man-or at least he seemed to be. Tall, broad-shouldered, and with an almost intimidating presence, he had dark, unruly hair and a jawline so sharp it seemed carved. But it was his eyes that held me captive: a shade of amber, glowing like fire against the surrounding darkness.

"I... I was hiking," I replied, my voice weaker than I would have liked. It was a pathetic excuse, I knew, but I couldn't think of anything better.

"Hiking?" He arched an eyebrow, as if my explanation didn't make sense. "Here?"

He took another step toward me, and my instincts finally screamed at me to back away. I stepped back but tripped over a branch and nearly lost my balance. Before I could fall, he was beside me, quick as lightning, gripping my arm firmly. His touch was warm, almost burning against my cold skin.

"Careful," he said, his voice now softer but still laden with something I couldn't define.

"Who are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "And why are you here?"

He hesitated for a moment, as if weighing whether or not to answer. Finally, he let out a low sigh and said, "My name is Adrian. I... live around here."

"You live in the forest?" My question came out before I could stop it, and he gave a faint smile, but it was a joyless smile, almost sad.

"Let's just say I look after it," he replied, glancing away for a moment, as if listening to something I couldn't hear. "And you really should head back home. This place isn't safe."

There was something in the way he said it-the urgency in his voice, the intense glow in his eyes-that sent a chill down my spine. But at the same time, it awakened an insatiable curiosity. What did he mean by "not safe"? And why did he seem so... desperate for me to leave?

"I'm not afraid," I said, trying to sound confident, but the expression on his face shifted to something between frustration and concern.

"You should be," he said, taking a step back and releasing me. "The forest can be treacherous, especially under the light of the full moon."

Before I could ask what he meant, a distant sound cut through the air. It was a howl-long, deep, and incredibly close. My heart raced, and Adrian immediately turned toward the sound, his entire body tense like a predator about to strike.

"You need to go. Now," he said, his voice tight, almost like a growl. But I couldn't move. The howl had paralyzed me, planting a primal fear deep in my chest.

Adrian turned to me, and his eyes now seemed brighter, almost shimmering. "Elena, listen to me," he said, his voice firm but also gentle. How did he know my name? I didn't have time to ask. "If you want to survive, you need to trust me."

I didn't know why, but the way he said it made something inside me surrender. Before I could fully process what was happening, he took my hand and pulled me away from the path I'd taken, guiding me through the trees with impressive agility. His steps were quick but silent, while mine felt absurdly loud.

The howl echoed again, closer this time, and I felt Adrian's grip on my hand tighten. I didn't look back, even when I heard the sound of something moving rapidly through the vegetation. Finally, we reached a clearing bathed in moonlight. Adrian stopped abruptly, positioning himself between me and the direction we'd come from.

"Stay behind me," he ordered, his voice now deep, almost animalistic. I obeyed, my breathing fast and uneven. My whole body trembled, but it wasn't just from fear. It was something more-something I couldn't explain.

What happened next was a blur. A shadow emerged from the trees, and Adrian moved with a speed that seemed inhuman. There were sounds of a struggle, growls, and something that resembled a roar. All I could do was crouch and hope it would end quickly. When silence finally fell over the clearing, I looked up and saw Adrian standing there, breathing heavily but unscathed. His amber eyes met mine again, and this time there was something different in them-something that felt like both a warning and a promise.

"You shouldn't have come here," he said once more, but this time his voice was laden with something deeper, something I knew would change my life forever.
