Tira was supposed to belong to Asher Parker, the man who taught her love. But when his empire collapses overnight, she's forced into the arms of Jason Collins, his ruthless rival.

Chapter 1 Selfless Decision

He watched her in that infuriating way of his, like he had already won, like she was already his.

"You're shaking," he noted, his voice low, almost amused.

"Regret?"

Tira swallowed, hating how her body betrayed her. "Disgust," she fired back.

His lips curled into a smirk, but there was no real amusement in his eyes, only cold calculation.

Jason Collins, billionaire, rival to the man she loved, and now... her husband.

A forced marriage. A deal with the devil.

All to save Asher.

Her mind reeled back to the moment she had made the choice. One day ago, she had stood outside a burning empire, Asher's empire.

His business had crumbled under a ruthless, calculated takeover, and Jason had been the mastermind behind it all.

In mere hours, the man she had loved for years had lost everything.

The only way to save him from total ruin? Accept Jason's offer: her body, her obedience, her hand in marriage.

The ring on her finger felt like a shackle.

"I don't understand you,"

she muttered, staring at her own reflection in the window.

"You have everything, money, power. Why do this?"

Jason leaned forward, his presence overwhelming in the enclosed space.

"Because I could."

The words sent a shiver down her spine.

He reached out, his fingers tracing her jawline, tilting her chin so she had no choice but to look at him.

His gaze was piercing, unreadable.

"Let's get one thing straight, Tira. You may hate me now, but soon, you'll crave me."

His thumb brushed the corner of her mouth.

"And when that day comes, I want you to remember something-you walked into this willingly."

She jerked away from his touch, heart hammering. "I did this for Asher."

Jason's smirk darkened. "And yet, you're here with me."

The limousine pulled to a stop in front of an impossibly sleek skyscraper.

Collins Tower. Her new home. The driver opened the door, and Jason stepped out first, offering his hand.

She didn't take it.

Instead, she lifted her chin and stepped onto the wet pavement on her own. She wouldn't let him think he had already broken her.

Inside, the penthouse was everything she expected, dark, elegant, and suffocatingly luxurious.

Floor-to-ceiling windows revealed the city below, but Tira felt caged. Jason shrugged off his coat and loosened his tie as he watched her take it all in.

"Welcome home, Mrs. Collins."

The words made her stomach twist.

"I want my own room," she said, folding her arms.

Jason's laugh was quiet, rich.

"That's adorable."

Her pulse spiked. "I'm serious."

"So am I."

He stepped closer, the space between them vanishing too fast.

"You'll sleep in my bed."

Tira took a step back, only to find herself pressed against the cold glass of the window.

Jason followed, trapping her in place. His heat, his scent, dark spice and something unmistakably him, wrapped around her.

"Your rules don't apply here," he murmured, his fingers ghosting over the pulse at her throat.

"I own you now, remember?"

Her breath hitched. "I will never belong to you."

Jason chuckled, the sound low and deep, vibrating through her chest.

His fingers slid from her throat to her jaw, applying just enough pressure to tilt her face up to his.

"Is that what you think?"

His breath fanned her lips.

"You already do, Tira. Every time you say my name, every time your pulse races when I'm close, you're mine."

She clenched her jaw.

"You're delusional."

Jason's eyes darkened. "Am I?" He leaned in, his lips just barely brushing the shell of her ear.

"Tell me, when Asher touches you... does it make you feel like this?"

Tira's breath came in short, uneven gasps, her body betraying her in the worst way. No. She wouldn't give in to him. She wouldn't

He pulled back, watching her, waiting. When she didn't answer, his smirk deepened.

"That's what I thought."

Humiliation burned in her chest. She shoved him away and turned on her heel.

"I'm done talking to you."

Jason didn't stop her. He let her walk away, but the satisfaction in his gaze was unmistakable.

Because he knew she would be back.

Elsewhere

Asher Cross stared at his reflection in the empty glass of whiskey, fury boiling under his skin. His empire was gone. His woman was gone. And Jason Collins was responsible for it all.

No.

He wouldn't let this stand.

Setting the glass down, he reached for his phone. There was one thing Jason had underestimated Tira's love for him. He would get her back. He would tear Jason apart, piece by piece.

But Asher knew Jason. Knew the way his mind worked.

This wasn't just about power; it was about possession. Jason had never lost anything in his life until now. Because Asher wasn't just going to take Tira back. He was going to destroy him.

Jason thought he had won.

But he didn't understand what true loss felt like.

Not yet.

Asher's fingers tightened around his phone as he dialed a number he hadn't used in years.

When the call connected, a deep voice answered, "It's been a while, Asher."

"I need something handled," Asher said, his voice low and full of intent.

A pause. Then, "Collins?"

Asher's jaw clenched. "I want his world to burn."

A slow exhale on the other end of the line. Then, a chuckle. "Consider it done."
