Lakshmi please fight for us the way I'm fighting for us now" Scott gripped her shoulder and shook her but she remained quiet. How was she going to tell her mum and the whole of Delhi that she had been having a secret affair with her supposed stepbrother all this while.? How was she going to tell them that she is madly in love with him that's why she sent the wedding invitation to him so he would be able to get passed the security at the gate and stop the wedding.
At Seraline Jonse hospital
"What is going on?" Rose could be seen shouting and running towards a man in a stroller.
He was putting on a lab coat although she couldn't see his face. She rushed towards his direction, taking her stethoscope from her neck and placing it in her ear.
She placed her stethoscope around her neck again when she noticed that a senior doctor was already attending to him.
"Mason has a tumor in his brain" Mia's voice echoed in Roses head when she saw him lying almost lifeless on the bed.
"Doctor Nicole...is he...going to be alright?" Rose looked at her feet as she couldn't get herself to look at Mason.
"I don't know Rose," doctor Nicole said as she closed the door and drew the curtain.
"Mia..." Rose found herself sobbing as she went in search of her friend who was in another theatre room where a surgery was being carried out.
Rose waited patiently for the surgery to be over and one could easily mistake Rose as a relation to the person being operated on as she looked very tense and uneasy.
"Rose!" Mia's blue eyes became brighter as she looked at her friend with so much happiness.
She wanted to tell Rose how she enjoyed being part of the surgery but when she saw how tensed Rose looked her smile disappeared almost immediately.
"What happened?" Mia asked with a faint smile as she sat down beside Rose with her fair palms resting on her knees as she tapped her palms on her knees.
"Mia...you were right. Mason is...come with me" Rose grabbed Mia's wrist as she urged her to walk with her.
Making Mia run through the hospital hallway she arrived at the room ICU where Mason was.
Mia wasn't the only surprised one as both of them were informed that Mason had gone into a coma because of a fast growing tumor in his brain.
"Mia" Rose's voice cracked as another tear escaped from her eyes.
"Why are you crying?" Mia asked her.
"Mason" Rose found herself saying as she kept on trying to wipe her tears with the back of her palm
"Ok" Mia smiled as she kept on nodding her head.
Delhi, India
"If there is anyone who has something to say as to why this marriage shouldn't take place, please speak up now or forever hold your peace" the priest that was conducting the wedding between Lakshmi and her groom Chandran announced to the guests.
The whole place was silent as everyone was so overjoyed to see the marriage take place.
Lakshmi's mum wiped the tears of joy that had escaped from her eyes as she looked at her beautiful daughter that wore a red sari, that had hand made embroidery with a veil that covered her face.
All her jewelries were pure gold and diamond as Lakshmi's mum left no stone unturned in preparing for her daughter's wedding...the whole deli was aware and over 3000 guests were present.
The wedding was also being broadcasted live on the news.
The only unhappy person was Lakshmi...she just felt like getting up to oppose the marriage but it was already too late.
The veil that covered her face served a good purpose as it made it impossible for anyone to see her facial expression.
She sat by the holy fire with her groom as they had already made their way round the holy fire as per the wedding rituals as he had already put the garlin and wedding chain around her neck.
All that was left was for him to apply the Sindooram, vermilion on her forehead.
"I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY" A bold masculine voice said as a tall elegant, well built man putting on a men's slim Fit Suit one button 3-piece blazer jacket vest & pant walked on the red carpet to the Mandap where the groom and bride sat bedside the holy fire.
He didn't hesitate to grab the bride by the hand and make her stand up as he took the veil off her face.
"SCOTT!!" Lakshmi's mum screamed as she approached him, trying to attack him with a slap but he dodged it just in time.
"LAKSHMI TELL THEM.... TELL THEM YOU DON'T WANT THIS MARRIAGE" he screamed as he held her hand as he kept on shaking her vigorously.
"SECURITY!!" Lakshmi's mum yelled as she tried to drag her daughter and set her free from Scott's grip but he brought out a gun and pointed it at her.
"Just let her be" Scott was about to break down but he managed to keep his cool.
"Let her speak for herself or else I promise a lot of people are going to die" Scott threatened, still pointing the gun at Lakshmi's mother as he would move the gun occasionally so it would point at other guests as well.
"Scott...stop it...stop please.... we can sit and talk this out '' Lakshmi's mom was shaking her head sideways as she became terrified when she saw the gun in his hands.
"How did you even get in here?" She asked him.
"I have a wedding invitation so passing the gate wasn't such a big deal and the fact that Lakshmi here sent me that wedding card then tells you she doesn't want this wedding"
Scott looked at Lakshmi as he made her face him still with the gun in his hands.
"Lakshmi you have to tell everyone here that you love only me...you have to tell everyone that you don't want to get married to this man over here. I love you Lakshmi please fight for us the way I'm fighting for us now"
Scott gripped her shoulder and shook her but she remained quiet.
How was she going to tell her mum and the whole of Delhi that she had been having a secret affair with her supposed stepbrother all this while.?
