SWEET SORROW

****A CAFE****

Ariana was pacing around while waiting for Richard to arrive, she didn't know if she should be happy, sad or probably in between. She doesn't know if he will be happy for what she is about to tell him. Meet Ariana Jones, a final year college student who happens to be Richard King's girlfriend.

She has had a crush on him for a very long time but didn't have the courage to tell him, not when he's a chronic playboy, but after listening to her friends advice she decided to open up and confess to him and to her greatest surprise he accepted to be her boyfriend.

After three months of dating she decided to give him her body to prove her love for him after she was sure that he truly loves her, she's waiting for him so that she can break the news that she's pregnant, the opening of the door brought her back to reality.

"I'm here now, why did you sound so urgent?" Richard asked smiling warmly at her which gave her hope that things are going to go well. She gave him the result which he stared at her before reading it.

"You are pregnant, didn't know you had another boyfriend" Richard said his smile slowly dropping.

"What are you saying, I don't have any other boyfriend, you and I know it" Ariana said feeling scared of how things were going.

"Are you trying to say I am responsible?" Richard asked

"Why are you saying this, you know fully well that you are my first, stop scaring me" Ariana said her palms getting sweaty.

"I can't figure out why you are telling me that you are pregnant, what does that have to do with me, if you can't get the father of that thing in your stomach then it's best you abort it" Richard said emotionlessly while tears started pouring out of Ariana eyes.

"What are you trying to say?" Ariana asked praying inwardly that all these was a joke.

"I am not the father of that thing Ariana" Richard said meaning every word as he turned to leave, Ariana stood there trying to process all he just said to her, her breathing getting heavy, her heart almost exploding as reality kept hitting her.

"Please don't leave me here, let's figure something out" She rushed to him holding his hand, he jerked his hand away from her, she fell on her butt.

"Do you really think I truly fell for you, I only wanted to know the feeling of fucking a nerd like girl and that's it. Listen to me you are only my plaything, a number to the numerous girls I've fucked. She actually think I fell for her, interesting" Richard left her there while she sat there crying, finding it hard to believe, he played her, she's just his plaything those words kept ringing in her head as she sat there not knowing what to do.

****JONES HOUSE****

Ariana finally got back home after crying her heart's out to meet her parents and younger sister in the living room.

"Where do you think you are going to?" Mr Jones asked, Ariana turned to look at him her eyes puffy and swollen.

"Dad, what are you saying?" Ariana asked not getting a single thing that was going on.

"There's no way I will allow you to stay here with that bastard in your tummy" Mr Jones said.

"Please, don't send me out, I have no where to go" Ariana fell on her knees crying loudly.

"You should have thought about that before opening your legs" Samara said while chewing her gum loudly, she and Ariana are not in good terms cause their parents always sees Ariana as a burden and favours Samara for some unknown reason.

"Mom please, help me talk to dad, it's not safe outside" Ariana pleaded.

"It would be best if you leave now Ariana, just get out" Mrs Jones said.

"Atleast let me spend the night here, it's past 9 already, I promise to leave tomorrow, I have no where to go" Ariana begged her tears falling heavily.

" She won't give in so easily, but not to worry, I will do it myself" Samara stood as she started dragging her by the hand.

"Mom, dad, please don't send me out so late at night, Samara please stop it, please" They all fell a deaf ear to her pleas as they shut the door right in her face.

"Glad we've finally gotten rid of her" Samara turned to her parents to see them smiling.

Ariana kept walking down the Streets heading to her last hope that is Dora, her best friend's house, she got to the front door as she pressed the door bell, the door was opened by Dora.

As soon as Dora opened the door, Ariana asked "Dora can I pass the night here?"

"I'm sorry but you know my parents wouldn't allow that but what happened to your house" Dora said.

"It's a long story, I just need a place to sleep tonight please" Ariana begged her tears falling uncontrollably.

"I wish I could help you but I'm sorry, you know my parents were never in approval of our friendship and no amount of begging can change their minds" Dora pulled her into a comforting hug as she joined her in crying.

"Be safe" Dora said as they broke the hug while Ariana walked away like a dead soul, how could things go so wrong in just one day, Richard betrayed her, he toyed with her feelings, her parents have thrown her out of the house, she has no where to go, no one to turn to, she's alone, just her and her unborn child.

"Oh my, she's so pretty" A group of five boys blocked her, she was too weak to even find her voice.

"Wh..wha.. who are you?" She managed to ask.

"Such a damsel walking alone in the middle of the night" One of the boys said.

"Stay away from me" Ariana warned as she tried to walk away but they stopped her.

"Calm down angel" Another one said licking his lips as he grabbed her by the arm.

"No! What are you doing let me go!!". She was screaming at the top of her voice but nothing stopped them.

"You should have thought about that before deciding to keep the child". Another one said and her eyes widened as she began processing the whole thing.

"Did Richard really send you here?".

The one who looked like the leader let out a smirk before replying. "Maybe".

She began crying again as they advanced towards her. She tried fighting them off but who was she kidding, there's no way she'd be able to defeat them.
