"You're cursed, and I'll forever regret the fact that I didn't feed you to wild boars the day you were born. The goddess alone knows what heinous offence you must have committed in your past life to be so cursed in your present one." My mother heaped abuses on me from her perch on the seettte with my younger sister. " Please mother." I begged from where I was kneeling on the floor in front of the seettte. " Don't you dare call me mother." She shreiked getting to her feet to hit me across the face before falling back into her seat, panting deeply. Cradling my face in my hands, I let my tears fall. Wouldn't it be better to leave this world and of this pain behind? I wondered.

Hisses and snarls trails me as I hurry home from the market. It neither fazes nor bothers me though, neither of it is anything new. I've been used to both my entire life and I guess I've grown a thick enough skin to handle all the barbs. Not that I didn't deserve it. I deserve all of it and more. I deserved the hisses that rained from every lip whenever they caught sight of me. I deserve the glares of contempt and despise that followed me every where I went.
Yes, I was cursed and I deserve to suffer. My name is Sharon Samaf and this is my story. First I would like to introduce my family, for without them no story of mine would be complete. Now if you're thinking of one big cozy family where everyone loves and supports everyone else and we all live in happiness and bliss, then you couldn't be farther from the thruth. My family was the opposite of the ideal family, at least where I was concerned. They were pretty close knit when other matters came into play. (Like finding my sister a rich husband.)
In other families, the father is the head of the family, but in my family my mother is. Fania Halfad-Samaf. Belle of the Golden lamp pack and matriarch of the Halfad-Samaf clan.
Her father Levan Halfad was a direct descendant of of Lycan Halfad, the first king of the lycan empire, when he died she schemed and plotted, killing all those who refused to be coerced or bought to take his place as the head of clan. And as for my father, he was mere putty in her hands. If she asked him to jump, his only question would be how high.
She was a very powerful woman revered and feared throughout the pack, which was why I was such a disappointment to her. You can imagine how disappointed such a woman would be to have such a weak omega for a daughter. Which was why I could understand the way she treated me. I was a smirch on her reputation and should be treated as such.
Next in line is my sister Vienna, the perfect daughter, the daughter my mother deserves, the daughter that befits her mother's status. Vienna is not just beautiful, she's extremely beautiful. She has long dark hair that falls to the middle of her pack, green eyes that glow in the dark, a cute nose, high cheekbones, cupid lips and super white straight teeth.
She shifted for the first time at three into a most magnificent wolf, from then on she continued to develop her powers and by ten she could not only outrun adult members of the pack but could also beat most of them at hand to hand combat. As she got older though, she stopped fighting with her hands and chose to use her wits instead, letting others do the dirty work, just like her mother. She was the perfect daughter for Fania, and just like her mother she hated me and treated me like the trash I was.
Then we have Barkin Samaf, my father. Member of the lower council of wolves and owner of the largest rice and barley fields in the entire golden lamp pack.
Unlike my mother and sister,my father never looked at me with anything close to hatred in his eyes, if anything he looked at me with indifference and he never slapped or punched or hit me either. Although if I had a choice I would have preferred that he treat me like my mother and sister did. What he did to me was worse, so much worse.
I was eight the first time he came into my room, I was very tried from a very long day spent in the rice fields trailing after the labourers in the hot sun to level the rows they had already tilled, the earth was blistering hot and I had blisters all over my hands and arms and bruises from where I had tripped and fell over and over again. When I finally gotten home, Vienna made me wash all her clothes, both dirty and clean before letting me get to bed.
When I was finally allowed to, I fell asleep the moment my head hit the bed, only jolting awake when I felt something soft slide against my bare legs. For a few tentative seconds I was sure it was a spider or some other creepy bug or reptile and remained deadly still hoping it would go away.
That was when I heard his voice. "Shhhhhhhhhh." He whispered raising his other hand to tap his index finger against my lips. "Father?" I said in a normal voice, sitting up in bed and rubbing my sleep filled eyes. What could be the matter? I wondered. Surely he wants about to make me do chores this night, was he? " Shhhhhhhhhh."
He whispered again, clapping his palm over my mouth this time. " Daddy's here to make your feel good." He added. " Promise to keep your voice down and I'll lift my hand." He continued eliciting a nod from me. " Good." He murmured approvingly when I remained quiet even when hos hand was no longer over my mouth. Sitting beside me, he placed both hands on my ankles and slowly trailed them up to the hem of my old frayed night dress.
"What are you doing?" I asked, when his hands continued to move, lifting the dress until it lay bunched up at my waist revealing my bony thighs were exposed. Suddenly he was breathing in short pants as he ran a finger between my legs.
"What are you doing?" I whispered again. " You're going to remain quiet." He said getting to his feet and untying his breeches. " Raise your voice even one decibel above a whisper and I'll make sure your mother works you to the bone tomorrow. Is that understood?" He asked. When I nodded, he smiled approvingly and got back into bed with me.
