Lina Connelly was a successful attorney who had been betrayed by her lover. She drove under influence and smashed two mafias from Cimino Family who were shooting a rival underworld Prince, Michael Carlito. Due to that, she became a target of the Cimino Family and Michael Carlito had no choice but went all out to protect her. Two of them had to go through a private plane crash, uncountable hitmen attack and mole in Michael's organization. She realized that he had a heart of gold but there were too many odds against them : the Carlito Family Matriach, the Ciminos who wanted her dead, his childhood sweetheart, her ex-boyfriend.... Could they survive through all these and become lovers?
Lina Connelly began her night with two bottles of Budweiser. Then, she ordered three Tequila shots and Scotch whiskey on the rocks. The last drink she took before leaving Oasis, one of the most prestigious clubs in Beverly Hills, was the AK47 cocktail
Yes, she went all out to get intoxicated.
She had been broken hearted just a few hours ago when she stepped into her luxurious condominium in Los Angeles downtown that she shared with her fiance Harry. She went for a business trip and returned home two days earlier than plan and was shocked once she opened the door.
She was welcomed by lots of moans and groans which clearly indicated that someone was fucking in her master bedroom. She rushed to the bedroom and opened the door. What she saw was just as expected : Harry was fucking a blonde from behind on her bed.
Harry was shocked when seeing Lina. "I... I thought you are in New York now...?" He stammered while still continuing his motion and the blonde continued her moans, without realizing that would make Lina even madder.
Although extremely angry and upset, as a successful attorney, Lina was able to remain calm. "You have three hours to disappear entirely from my life. When I return tonight, I do not want to see any trace of you in my condo." She demanded coldly, as if she was addressing her clients' cases. "Mary will be informed first thing tomorrow to terminate all business ties with your company."
Yes, she owned this $3 million condo, not Harry. She earned enough for the last few years to afford this condo overlooking Los Angeles skyline. And Mary was her personal assistant who had been working for her for the past two years.
"Hey, just gimme a chance, okay?" Harry began his pleading upon hearing these. "You were away and I was lonely and...."
"Just shut your stupid mouth off. And remember the deadline. Three hours." Lina did not want to listen any of his nonsense and slammed the bedroom door right away. She picked up her Porsche 911 car key and roared out of the basement garage in less than five minutes.
At first, she was heart broken. After all, they had been together for fifteen months and everything seemed to be perfect until just now. He appeared to be caring and loving. But, after she had witnessed his infidelity, she knew he was the bastard of the year. He simply was not someone worthy of her love.
That was when she became angry with herself. "Why was I so stupid? Why couldn't I see through that bastard earlier?"
Then, she decided to get herself some liquor in Oasis. She was a regular there, often patronizing there with her colleagues or BFFs. But, this time, she went there alone. She was too proud to call her friends to accompany her and let them know her failure in love. Sooner or later, they would know. But, no, not at this very moment of time. She needed a little time to lick her wounds.
So, she walked into Oasis alone and sat at the bar, ordering drinks after drinks from Joe, the bartender, until Joe refused to serve her anymore liquor.
"Hey, I know something is wrong tonight. But, it's time to stop. Go home, get a good sleep. Tomorrow will be another day. Okay?" Joe cared about his customers, especially Lina who gave the best tips among his regulars.
Lina gave him a sigh before standing up and left.
"Please don't drive! Take a cab!" Joe reminded her as she walked away.
Good old Joe gave Lina two advices : go home and do not drive. Had she listened to his advices completely, her world would not be turned upside down in the next few hours. And, she would not have met Michael after all. However, with a twist of fate, she only listened to his first advice but not the second one.
Her heart was still full of anger and frustration. So, she decided to release them through speedy wheels. She ignited Porsche 911's engine, listened to its roars for a while before stepping on the accelerator and hit the streets of Los Angeles downtown.
She was a good driver. Her previous cars were all remarkable sports cars : Subaru Impreza WRX and Dodge Viper. Therefore, she was very confident in her driving but she had somehow under estimated the influence of alcohol on her judgment. And, the streets were full of surprises. Little did she know, her fate was thus sealed.
It was late at night and there was not much traffic on the streets. Seeing that, she accelerated and Porsche 911 responded. 40 mph, 60 mph, 80 mph... The speedometer kept reaching new heights with every second. Everything was normal until she made a turn on the streets and suddenly saw three men darting across the street.
"What the fuck?" She cursed while slamming the brake and pulling the emergency brake right away. However, her reflex was still one second too slow and her car still smashed the frontmost guy. The guy fell on the windscreen and she could clearly see blood bursting out from his mouth.
The worse was yet to come. Porsche 911 lost control as she pulled the emergency brake. The entire car fishtailed in the middle of the street, its rear crushing the last guy in line. Her car only stopped after plowing into a lamppost. Airbags deployed immediately and she was not injured. However, the shock of the unexpected accident and the intoxication made her pass out.
Before she completely lost her consciousness, she could hear some gunshots and the last thing on her mind was : I smashed two guys!
She did not know how long she lost her consciousness. But it definitely felt like centuries had passed by when she finally opened her eyes once again.
"Where am I...?" Her vision was a little blurry at first but she eventually could see clearly after a couple of minutes of repeatedly blinking her eyes.
She then noticed that she was lying on a bed and there were two police officers standing in front of her.
"Lina Connelly, you are hereby charged with driving under influence and vehicular man slaughter, killing two people in an accident happened exact three hours and fifteen minutes ago." A poker face officer announced her fate.
"This gotta be the worst night of my life...!" Lina almost passed out again upon hearing her charge.

Elodie took a deep breath and knocked, the sound echoing in the quiet corridor. A moment of silence passed, broken only by the pounding of her heart. Finally, the door snicked open, revealing a surprised Dashiell. 'Can't you see the Do Not Disturb sign? We don't want-' His initial frown quickly morphed into confusion at the sight of his wife. 'What are you doing here?' he demanded. 'Your girlfriend invited me,' Elodie replied, her voice laced with icy calm. She tried to peer past him, but his broad frame blocked the view. A saccharine voice chimed in from within the room. 'Elodie? Oh dear, we didn't mean for you to find out this way. It's just that-' Elodie cut her short. 'Oh please, Selene. Spare me the fake apologies. You wouldn't have sent me all those texts if you didn't want me to know.' Dashiell shifted uncomfortably, his face a mask of annoyance. 'What texts?'
