Declan Stone was the very definition of certainty. Known for his devastating charm and his ability to make anyone fall for his smile with a single blink, he had always believed himself to be the master of the game. Emotions were for others. He preferred simple pleasures, easy conquests, and above all, no attachments. His life, perfectly controlled, ran on tracks he had laid out with precision. Until Kai Coachman entered the scene. Kai was no mere pawn to be moved. He was a storm, unpredictable and captivating, sweeping everything in his path. His voice carried a sharp humor, and his gaze-piercing, bold-seemed to see beyond the carefully constructed facades of Declan. Kai expected nothing from him, and that was what made the irresistible Declan Stone completely crazy. From their first encounter, Declan had felt something, a shiver, a faint alarm ringing that warned him. Kai was not like the others. He wasn't someone you could seduce and forget. Yet, Declan had always been clear with himself : he only played games he knew he could win. But with Kai, it wasn't a game. It was a growing obsession, a need he couldn't control. He wanted him-not for a night or a week, but for everything. Kai had awakened something within him he hadn't known existed : a burning, unshakable desire, something deep, dangerous. Kai, however, was not one to be captured. The closer Declan got, the more he seemed to slip away, leaving behind a trail of sly smiles and sharp remarks. It was frustrating, exhilarating, terrifying. But Declan Stone never gave up on what he wanted. And what he wanted was Kai Coachman.
KAI COACHMAN
Honestly fuck my life. Fuck everything that surrounds my life. I'm really considering crawling back up my mothers vagina and wishing I was never even born at this point.
Why ?
Because I was in the midst of an argument I didn't want to be apart of. Vera and May were arguing, there high pitch screaming annoying the hell out of me but there wasn't much I could do. Poor Finnick was in the corner, his hands covering his ears as if to block out their noise but even I knew that shit wasn't actually working for him.
Why were these chimpanzee like women yelling ? Well it wasn't like they decided to randomly do so, not like that wasn't something they wouldn't do. It was because I, Kai Coachman, and my best friend Finnick Green we're getting married. To whom ? Killian King and Declan Stone. It honestly flipped my mind upside down to think that someone like me was going to get married to someone like Declan Stone.
I mean, no offense, I love the guy to pieces but I never thought I was gay. Junior year of high school, I would've laughed in your face if you brought up that gay shit to me. I would've cackled and danced on your mothers grave, telling you to shove your jokes back up your ass.
Now look at me.
It's been literally four years, I felt old even though I was only twenty-one but it felt like yesterday that I was seventeen with the adorable Finnick by my side. Now I was literally an adult and I was marrying a fucking guy, that will never not faze me.
I was startled as arms wrapped around my waist and a chin lay on my right shoulder. Turning slightly, I saw Declan and despite the butterflies that erupted in my stomach and consumed my whole being, I shoved him away.
« Your breath stinks, » I commented, though it was far from true. The man smelled incredible, his breath minty and flawless like everything else about him.
« His breath stinks ?! Brush your teeth Declan ! Your breath can not stink on your wedding day, » Vera fussed, breaking from her shout fest with May who was by Finnick, comforting the small boy.
Declan rolled his eyes, blowing a breath of air in Vera's direction. She glared at first before she sniffed her super smelling nose and she had a satisfied look on her face.
« Fresh, » she said before turning and walking out to do whatever.
Declan came back over to me and stood in front of me, his arms instantly wrapping around my waist like his first instinct was to automatically touch me. I wasn't complaining, I loved when he touched me. I love when he was around me or whenever he looked at me because it made me squirm in the best way. It was so intense but wonderful at the same time. I would've pushed him away but I decided not to be as much of a dick as I usually am since it is our wedding day and instead, I wrapped my arms around his neck.
He smirked instantly, obviously pleased with my actions and I rolled my eyes. He leaned in and I blushed as I usually did, even now that it's been years, and he pressed his lips firmly against mine. I melt instantly, my limbs feeling like pudding...which I hated because pudding is fucking disgusting. Moral is, his lips felt amazing on mine.
If I only had five minutes to live, I'd spend them with my lips on his with no regrets at all.
« Save that lip action for when y'all say I do, » my mom scolded me as she gripped the back of my deluxe suit and ripped me away from Declan.
I swatted her hands off my suit, knowing it was expensive. I didn't pay for the damn thing but Declan did even though I insisted that he shouldn't become a sugar daddy for me cause even though it was hella tempting, my ass had to be independent.
« Ma what the fuck ! This suit costs a leg ! » I ragged.
She slapped my lips and I hissed in pain.
« Boy, I'm going to remove your damn leg if you curse like that one more time, » she scolded, her hands on her hips.
« I'll try to tame him Ms. Coachman, » Declan gave a innocent smile and I narrowed my eyes.
« I'm sure you will. God you are just so handsome, heaven knows how the hell Kai caught your attention, » Ma fawned over Declan, her eyes honey sweet when she looked at him.
I rolled my eyes so hard, I could practically see my brain ; not possible but let me exaggerate. Declan was like this, he'd butter up my mother to the point where she literally liked him more than me. Can you imagine, I'm her son ! What the hell kind of nonsense is that. I was much better than Declan, I mean I could write my name with my left hand. That was amazing, no one could tell me otherwise.
« Come here little Kaylee ! You too Jaylin, » Marcus was chasing three year old twins who zoomed past Declan and my mother who were conversing.

« Come here little Kaylee ! You too Jaylin, » Marcus was chasing three year old twins who zoomed past Declan and my mother who were conversing.
« It's you and me. Together, » he says, his voice soft yet unwavering. « Us against the world. » In that moment, I want to believe him. I want to believe that someone like him - untouchable, adored, the golden boy of our school - could really mean those words. That the universe could be kind enough to let someone like me hold on to someone like him. But life isn't a fairy tale. I know that better than anyone. Growing up, I learned to fear men. To distrust their words, their smiles, and their promises. My stepfather was my first lesson - a cruel man who used his fists and his words to break my mother and me into pieces too small to repair. I watched her endure him, and I told myself I'd never give anyone that power over me. I would never let anyone get close enough to hurt me. And then came that morning. The day Jake Spencer - star quarterback, school heartthrob, a boy who lives in a world so far from mine it might as well be another galaxy - saw me. Not just looked at me, but *saw* me. It was the day he saved me. Maybe he didn't realize what he was doing, but it didn't matter. That small act of kindness cracked something open inside me, like sunlight slipping through the shutters of a locked room. But Jake Spencer doesn't remember that day. How could he ? To him, it was nothing - a fleeting moment in a life full of glory and victories. But to me, it was everything. It was a lifeline, a flicker of hope in a world I thought would always be dark. It doesn't matter. I tell myself that every day. He's the golden boy. I'm the invisible girl. We belong in two different stories, and I'm better off blending into the background. It's safer there. For both of us. But fate has never cared about what I want. When it brings us together again, it isn't gentle. It strikes like lightning - sudden, fierce, and utterly unstoppable. He crashes into my life, turning everything I thought I knew into chaos. He tears down my walls, breaks through my defenses, and leaves me exposed in ways I never thought possible. He destroys me. And just like the first time, I'm the only one who remembers. But what I don't realize is that this time, he's breaking too.
