For two years, Elena played the role of the perfect, submissive wife to her wealthy husband, Andrew Macdonald, quietly swallowing the daily insults of his elite circle to appease his family. But using her hidden divination skills, she tracked his GPS to a dirty nightclub terrace and caught him tightly holding a fragile, crying woman, calling Elena a disposable "Appalachian hillbilly." "The lawyers are drafting the divorce papers. Next week, she'll be out of New York for good." Hearing Andrew promise this gently to his cheating partner, Elena stepped into the dim light, only to be met with nasty mockery from his arrogant friends, while the mistress shrank back and pretended to be an innocent victim. Andrew glared at Elena with deep annoyance, aggressively demanding she stop embarrassing him in public and go back to the countryside, fully expecting her to break down, cry, and beg him to save their marriage. Two years of cooking his meals, ironing his shirts, and enduring his family's cruel abuse were nothing but a sick joke to him, completely blind to the terrifying, ancient power she actually wielded. Instead of shedding a single tear, Elena mercilessly exposed their darkest medical and financial secrets, signed the divorce papers without taking a single dime, and stepped into her new life as the untouchable master she truly was.

The Divorced Psychic's Spectacular Comeback Chapter 1

Elena pressed her index finger against the cardboard.

The Tower.

The heavy oak table vibrated, a low hum that rattled the crystal ashtray. She had spread the cards for herself an hour before Sloane arrived-a quiet, private reading, the kind she rarely bothered with anymore. But the answer had come back so clearly it made her jaw tighten.

Sloane's boyfriend. The Obsidian club. VIP section. Betrayal, plain as the red wine that would be staining someone's lips tonight.

Elena's dark eyes flickered with a brief flash of gold. The rune she had traced on the wood glowed faintly, then faded. A GPS dot blinked red on the table, aligning perfectly with a location in the heart of the city's nightlife district.

She stared at it for a long moment, then picked up her phone.

Come out with me tonight. You've been holed up in that apartment for weeks. We're getting drinks.

Sloane arrived twenty minutes later, still in her rumpled work blouse, her eyes rimmed red. She dropped into the chair across from Elena and let out a shaky breath.

"He won't answer my calls," Sloane said before Elena could offer her a drink. "It's been over two weeks. His office says he's on a business trip. His assistant won't tell me anything. Elena, I think something's wrong."

Elena said nothing. She picked up her martini glass and took a slow sip, the cold liquid masking the flicker of golden light receding from her eyes.

She already knew what was wrong. She'd known for an hour. But some truths a person had to see for themselves, or they'd spend the rest of their life doubting the messenger.

"You're spiraling," Elena said gently, setting the glass down. "You need to get out of your head. Come on. I know a place."

"I don't know if I can pretend to have fun tonight-"

"Then don't pretend. Just come." Elena stood, smoothing her dress. "Trust me."

Sloane hesitated, then grabbed her Birkin and followed.

Elena led the way, pulling out her phone. She typed a message to Andrew.

Are you home for dinner tonight?

She hit send. Delivered. She waited. Nothing.

The last message Andrew had sent her was over a month ago. A single word: Busy. Before that, another month of silence. Before that: Don't wait. She hadn't heard his voice in six weeks. He was always in meetings, on business trips, tied up with corporate matters that apparently didn't allow for a thirty-second call to his wife.

Elena slipped the phone back into her clutch. Her face revealed nothing. This was normal now. She had stopped expecting anything different.

The brass doors of The Obsidian club were heavy. The bass hit Elena's chest the second they pulled them open.

"This place is way too fancy," Sloane muttered. "We'll never get in-"

The club manager stepped in front of them, mouth already opening. Elena slid a black card from her clutch and pressed it into his chest. His annoyed expression vanished. He plastered on a smile and stepped aside.

They walked down the dark corridor. Neon lasers sliced through the smoke. The air smelled like cheap sweat and expensive mistakes.

"Let's find the bar," Sloane said, turning toward the main floor.

"This way," Elena said, laying a light hand on her arm and steering her toward the VIP section. "I heard the good tables are up here."

Sloane frowned but let herself be guided. They passed a row of numbered suites. Elena's steps slowed, precise, unhurried, drifting Sloane toward room V03 as if by accident.

Then Elena "stumbled," her heel catching, her shoulder nudging the door. It swung inward.

Sloane stopped dead.

Inside, under the low amber light, her boyfriend sat with his arm wrapped around another woman, his mouth buried against her throat, a bottle of champagne sweating on the table.

"Marcus?" Sloane's voice cracked like glass.

The woman screamed. Sloane lunged forward, colliding with her in a blur of flying hair and shattering glassware.

Elena stepped back into the hallway. She had done what she came to do. Sloane would hurt now-but she would never again lie awake wondering. There was mercy in certainty, even the cruel kind.

Elena turned to leave.

And then a different scent cut through the smoke.

Cedar and bergamot.

Andrew's cologne.

Elena's stomach tightened. Her dark eyes caught movement through the half-open doors of the adjacent suite, room V04. Slowly, she walked toward it and looked inside.

A tall man sat in the center of the plush leather sofa. Andrew. Her husband.

Across his lap sat a woman in a shimmering designer dress. Kaitlynn. Her fake, adopted sister.

Under the neon lights, Kaitlynn leaned back with a triumphant smirk, holding a mouthful of red wine between her lips. Andrew leaned down and pressed his mouth to hers, feeding her the wine as dark liquid dripped down their chins.

The room erupted in raucous cheers from Andrew's wealthy inner circle.

"Damn, Andrew! That's how a real couple drinks!"

"Thank god Kaitlynn's back from Europe!" a girl sneered over the music. "Why would anyone care about that Appalachian hillbilly you married? So what if Elena's the biological Frank daughter who grew up in some dirty mountain shack? Kaitlynn's the one raised like a true high-society princess!"

"Exactly! She actually thought she could steal Andrew just by claiming her birthright? What a desperate joke!"

The words carried clearly from the doorway, laced with a venom that could only come from people who had never once feared the consequences of their cruelty. Her body shook with freezing rage outside the door.

They dared to say she stole him? Two years ago, when the Franks found her and brought her back from the mountains, it was Andrew who had pursued her relentlessly, kneeling in the rain and begging to marry her just to secure his grandfather's blessing and inheritance. For two years she had buried her true identity, cooking his meals, ironing his shirts, silently swallowing the daily insults of his elite friends-all to be a devoted homemaker.

Yet the moment Kaitlynn-the thief who had switched lives with her at birth and stolen twenty years of her family's love-returned from her fake art trip abroad, Andrew was ready to throw Elena into the gutter.

Inside, Kaitlynn pulled back, giggling as fake tears welled in her eyes. "Andrew, stop," she pouted against his chest. "I feel so guilty. I don't want to ruin your marriage with my poor sister."

Andrew laughed cruelly, wiping the wine from her chin with a silk handkerchief. "She's an Appalachian hillbilly, Kaitlynn," he said coldly. "Dirty, uneducated, completely out of her league. She doesn't belong in our world."

Kaitlynn buried her face in his shirt. Elena saw the corner of her mouth twitch upward into a mocking smirk.

"I only married her to get my grandfather off my back and secure my shares," Andrew said, stroking her hair. "The lawyers are drafting the divorce papers now. Next week, that useless hillbilly gets kicked out of New York for good, and you'll get the place you deserve."

Elena closed her eyes. She forced air into her lungs. One breath. Two.

When she opened them, the pain and years of foolish devotion were gone. Only absolute ice remained.

Without hesitation, she kicked the heavy doors of room V04 open with a deafening crash.

The dim light hit her pale face. She stood there, expressionless, her aura expanding like a freezing winter storm.

Andrew dropped his arm from Kaitlynn's waist. Panic flashed in his eyes, then morphed into arrogant annoyance. Kaitlynn shrank behind him, gripping his jacket like a terrified child-but her eyes were full of venomous defiance.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Andrew snapped. "Are you stalking me like some psychotic freak?"

Elena let out a short, cold laugh. She looked at his wine-stained lips, then at Kaitlynn's clinging fingers.

"If you two parasites are going to cheat and swap spit," she said, her voice flat and loud enough to cut through the entire club, "you could at least pick a room that doesn't smell like a cheap public restroom."
