The doctor told him there could be a lot of reasons for Amanda's situation, but then he said he was surprised to find out that Amanda wasmalnourished.He explained to Mr. Henshaw that the nanny hadn't been feeding Amanda well enough. Hearing what the doctor had said, a wave of anger and guilt crashed over his face as he thought about his daughter, small, fragile, and unaware of the betrayal she had endured.
